We want to give you an idea what you may or may not do at home, we have compiled some precepts. If you see your gynecologist in 6 weeks he or she will discuss with you what you may or can do again:
- It is good to regularly walk but don’t stand too long.
- Try to minimize walking stairs (because of the impact on your belly-muscles).
- It is important the first six weeks not to lift more than 5 kilo’s.
- The first six weeks you should not cycle
- The first two weeks you should not drive a car yourself until you can focus again en don’t feel any pain anymore. You can sit in a car as passenger, but we advise you not to drive for more than 2 hours.
- The first six weeks you should not to go swimming or take a bath (for wound healing). You can take a shower though!
- The first six weeks you should not have sexual intercourse in relation to risk of infection and damage to the wound site.
- The first six weeks is better to not stretch/stretching. This means no mopping, vacuümcleaning etc. You can do some easy housework.
- The first 2 a 4 weeks rest in the afternoon.
- After 6 weeks you will return for a check at the policlinic. They will discuss birth control with you.
If you have any questions don’t hesitate to
contact the nurse or doctor.
